LCD TVs – Use An Innovative Concept

The LCD or Liquid Crystal Display TV makes use of the inter-active characteristics of liquid crystals and light. The technology adopted here is called Thin Film Transistor or TFT. The liquid crystals break down to small particles called pixels and that are the smallest unit for screen resolution. These crystals are generally located between the two electrodes and same number of sifts, that vibrate in one direction.

The LCD TV contains different components. These are: -

* Liquid crystals
* Polarizer plates
* Cold Cathode Fluorescent Lamps or CCFLs
* In-Plane Switching displays (IPS and S-IPS)
* Thin film transistor or TFT
* Electrodes made from a transparent conductor such as indium tin oxide

The LCD technology performs by selectively passing the light. The light passes via millions of individual LCD shutters. The shutters are placed in grids and they comprise of colored filters. They allow just the red, green, blue or RGB portion of light to pass. The white light is given by a CCFL series which are placed at the back of a screen. Each sub-pixel is produced by a combination of shutter-filter. These sub-pixels merge together and form a complete picture.

There are two polarizers set at 90 degrees angle. These polarizers could carry directors for creating a twisted structure, and that is aligned to other polarizer. The LCD shutters work by applying electric voltage. For turning the shutter off, electrical voltage is put across it that is from front to rear.
By controlling voltage given across the crystal, the remaining twist could be selected. It helps to control the capacity or transparency of a shutter. For improving the switching time, liquid crystals are put under pressure. This helps to re-align the directors, when field is off.

The LCD Flat Screen TV gives high on image resolution, distortion-free sound transmission and a crystal-clear display. They are also known for their consistent and high-end performance.
